Oman TV berichtet über Konferenz in Muscat

Unsere Kollegen in Middle East haben an der “1st International Conference on Cement & Concrete Technology” teilgenommen und die Ha-Be dort mit einem Stand präsentiert. Vorgestellt wurden unsere Produktsysteme aus Zusatzmittel, Farben, Betonschutz und Fasern. Ha-Be Middle East successfully participated in the “1st International Conference on Cement & Concrete Technology” in Muscat, Oman. The ACI Co-Sponsored International Conference was held from 20th to 22nd November 2017 and jointly organised by the Institute of Concrete Technology (ICT) and The Military Technical College in Muscat.

The three day event concerned with developments in cement and concrete technology, was especially of interest to academics, students, manufacturers, suppliers, engineers and consultants, and attended by various Omani officials including Salim bin Mohammed al Nuaimi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Transport and Communications for Transport, Commodore Mohammed bin Nassir al Wahibi, Assistant Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) for Administration, and Brig Ahmed bin Suleiman al Abadi, Head of the Engineering Services at the Defence Ministry.

The conference, entitled ‘concrete for the modern age – developments in materials and processes,’ attracted speakers and attendees from across the world to discuss on latest developments in cement and concrete technology. Also supported by the Oman Society of Engineers, the conference featured workshops, papers, presentations, etc. e.g. on cement chemistry, materials (admixtures, aggregates, fibres, additions –PFA, GGBS, silica fume), specifications and standards, sustainability, durability, (ultra-) high performance concrete, self-compacting concrete, hot weather concreting, test and assessment methods as well as surface protection methods and  materials.

Ha-Be Middle East was represented by the Omani team and excited to inform about recent product developments. “As one of the leading manufacturers of the construction chemicals industry, Ha-Be is pleased to support an event like this”, said Klaus Hofmann, General Manager of Ha-Be Middle East. Vinodkumar Vakkiyil, Regional Manager of Ha-Be in Oman, explained that Ha-Be supports customers of different industries to find advanced concrete technological solutions in Oman since 2012: “Our products, applications and services have been already used in major projects in Oman including the Khazzan project,  Bid Sur Dualization Project Section 1 Package 1A & 1B, Port of Duqm Infrastructure Package 1 (IP1), Sohar Airport, the independent Water and power project 2 (IWPP2) in Barka and the Muscat Mall”

While the Institute of Concrete Technology (ICT)’s mission is to preserve and promote concrete technology as a recognised engineering discipline and consolidate the professional status of practising concrete technologists, the creation of the Military Technological College presents an excellent opportunity for young graduates to embark on a first rate career in engineering.
